What You Should Understand About Skin Creme

By: Gen Wright

There are many things that you should understand about skin creme, but the most important fact is that these lotions assist in helping all kinds of skin types. If you elect to incorporate a special type of creme for the skin in your daily care regimen, you are likely to see drastic improvements in your complexion as a whole.

It is important to understand that no two lotions for the skin are exactly alike. When choosing a lotion for your skin, it is absolutely essential to match it up with your general skin type. While it is possible for your skin type to show signs of inconsistency, on the most part we each have one of the five main skin types.

The first type of skin is that which we all strive for. It is referred to as "Normal Skin". Basically, this means that there is no visible appearance of oil present on the skin. This is considered to be healthy skin due to the fact that it has a natural glow, and a high level of elasticity. Individuals that possess healthy skin often have clear skin, and few challenges with debris in the pores or signs of aging.

The second type of skin is called "Dry Skin". While this skin type is not exactly troublesome, it does lack proper hydration and make feel rough and tight. Individuals that want to resolve the complication of skin that is dry should use skin creme that includes water, oils, and other ingredients that will enhance the natural moisture level of the skin. Otherwise, complications such as fine pores and even wrinkles may develop.

The third type of skin that many use creme for is called "Oily Skin". Individuals that have this skin type will find large traces of oil on the skin. They will often appear "shiny". This is most commonly seen on the areas of the forehead, the cheeks, and even the nose.

Those that have this type of skin nearly almost always experience the challenges associated with acne outbreaks. The best creme for this type of skin is the type that includes natural cleansing agents, and do not contain ingredients that can weigh on the skin such as fats, and other types of oils. The skin creme should be "light" so that it does not increase the amount of oil that is displayed on the skin.

When choosing creme for the skin, the fourth type of skin is called "Combination Skin". Those that have this skin type will discover that certain areas of the skin are quite oily while other areas are relatively dry. Finding a creme that will match the skin type will be rather difficult. On the dry areas of the skin, you will want to implement lotions that are rich and contain a high level of moisturizers.

On areas that are oily, a creme should be used that will clean the area and successfully remove any and all impurities that result in massive amounts of oil production. While there are products out there that are appropriate for combination skin types, it is often best to focus on various areas of the skin individually in order to optimize results.

The fifth type of skin is referred to as "Sensitive Skin". This is typically the most troublesome of all skin types and the most challenging when it comes to finding the right skin lotion. While the actual skin is often tight and feels dry to the touch, there are areas that will likely become quite irritated. It is not uncommon to find rashes on the skin, redness, swelling, and even discomfort.

Items that are considered to be hypoallergenic and do not possess a large assortment of ingredients are often best for this type of skin. If a creme has cleansing agents, it may be beneficial to use it on the skin that is sensitive. This could help in preventing flare ups with inflammation. When choosing a creme for this skin, it is also very important to choose products that contain anti-inflammatory properties.

If you are interested in purchasing skin creme, you must first determine the type of skin that you have. Otherwise, you may choose a product that is totally inappropriate for you. By taking the time to determine the skin type that you are, you will be able to know what it is that your skin needs. It could be hydration, it could be moisture depletion, it could be cleansing agents, it could be anti-inflammatory agents.

It all boils down to the skin type. Once you have determined the needs of your skin, you should evaluate the products on the market. Keep in mind that not all products will be appropriate for you - even if they focus on your skin type. In some instances, finding the right skin creme will involve trial and error.
